Gerrard braved New York way back in 1989 where he landed a job making crates for some of New York's biggest museums and galleries. This led to set design and art direction for music videos , print work and commercials. Inspired by all he had seen, Gerrard returned to Australia and picked up a camera. His loose but moody portrait style was quickly noticed and fashion clients started wanting to cash in on Gerrard's cool aesthetic.
He returned to New York a few years later and enjoyed a huge amount of success. He has shot for Puma (US), Nautica, Just Jeans, Portmans, Mossimo, Levis Australia, Blue note Records and Nike and his work has appeared in Financial Review, City Magazine (NY), Vogue, Teen Vogue US, The Face, Glamour and i-D magazine.
Gerrard moved back to Australia for love and has been riding on a wave of clients wanting to bring credibility and authenticity to their brand, including Yahoo7, Banker's Trust, Covergirl, Fairfax, Harry Kewell for Politix, and JAG.
